Lot 8 Vintage 40s Schumann Bavaria Dinner Plates
7 are
Empress Dresden Iris
+ 1 is very similar but with a purple Lily.
All are Diameter ~ 10 1/8"
Colorful flowered center and border, heavy gold trim on scalloped edges, and in scrollwork on borders.  Borders also have reticulated pattern under the decoration.
I will also include 1 Meito Japan dinner plate that looks like a close copy of the purple lily plate, but without the reticulated and scalloped edges.  It is slightly smaller, about 9 7/8" diameter.
Backstamp on the 7 Iris plates reads:
"Germany US Zone" which makes it l
ikely these are from late 1940s.  This pattern was designed in 1945 and
discontinued
in 1981.  A replacements dealer lists these plates at .95 each.  B
ackstamp on the Lily plate is shown noting "Dresden Flowers" and does not say US Zone.
Gold trim is in very good shape.  No chips or flaws to speak of, just a hint of wear and a few stray paint marks as is common with hand-painted china.
