Perpetual Calender, also sometimes called Rotating or Metal CalenderVintage Soviet Ukrainian desk accessory
This central display rotates within a metal stand, and with each turn the date displayed changes by one, as a new number drops down into the window. There is also small knob at the side of the base which is used to change the the day weekday. There is also cell for monthes on the base in which months` plates were incerted manually. Months` plates were lost sometime during last half a century, but could be easily printed and replaced by new ones.
There are three drop-down cards after the number 31 - they read "Turn Slowly" and "Kharkov Factory of Non-standard Equipment" (Producer)
The calender is made of Chrome Steel (perfectly preserved) featuring full height bas-relief portrait of Taras Shevchenko, Ukranian national poet. Day numbers plates are made of brass, which make Clender even more rare.
It`s a great decor idea for your office or studio being at the same time fully functional old-school device. Perfect gift idea and essential for collectors.
