Description

Small optical theodolite TOM is used for measuring horizontal and vertical angles, determining magnetic azimuths, measuring distances using a filament rangefinder, leveling with a horizontal line of sight. Theodolite is convenient for working in hard-to-reach areas, mountainous terrain, can be used to perform all types of surveys, to link planned landmarks and other works. TOM can be used as a mine surveying tool.

The TOM theodolite is a tapered vertical axis repeating theodolite. All the main parts are made of light aluminum alloys, and the critical friction pairs are covered with a special high-strength porous oxide film that retains the lubricant well and reliably protects the friction surfaces from wear. TOM-theodolite of a closed design, all its main units are protected from mechanical damage and from direct dust and splashing water.
Serially produced by the industry from about 1963 to 1968, about 20 thousand units were produced.
