Two metal tags on the oak case: the red one says Service Blue Print, Co., Surveying Instruments and Repairing, Engineering Supplies, 710 Pine Street, St. Louis, MO; the other tag says DIETZGEN Trade Mark, Chicago New York New Orleans (and several more cities).
The case is intact and completely functional, the leather strap is original and the little latches are in place.  There is a plum bob and several other small pieces.  Also included are two receipts that appear to be repair tickets dated 1955.  Again, the sale includes the transit with case, the tripod, and the grade stick.  USED. Good condition LOCAL PICK UP.
I am located about 100 miles south of Chicago.  I will meet you in Gibson City, IL, Paxton, IL, or Gilman, IL for you to pick up locally.  I will not ship this transit, tripod, and grade stick.
If you don't intend to come to Gibson City, Paxton, or Gilman to pick this item up, don't buy it.
