    Description

    LISTING TITLE:
Lot of 3 HP 2013 UltraSlim Docking Stations D9Y32UT#ABA + matched HP AC adapters
    NOTES ON LISTING TITLE:
This lot consists of 3 docking station setups of the model number shown.  The phrase "matched HP AC adapters" means that with each docking station matched to a genuine HP AC adapter with volts and amps outputs matching the requirements shown on the label on the underside of each docking station.  The adapters may or may not be the ones originally furnished with the docking stations, but they were found in the same box of docking stations and AC adapters that these 3 setups were found in and there is nothing "proprietary" about them -- you could use any of them with many HP laptops directly, as long as the power requirements and the DC power cord "tip shape" on these adapters was a proper match for whatever HP laptop you'd use it with (which is a pretty common situation with AC adapters that are used with laptop docking stations).
    CONDITION DESCRIPTION:
What follows is a word for word copy of the text you'll see near the top of this listing, as provided by eBay for sellers to describe items being sold as "used" rather than "New".  It is set forth below
in "italics" to make it easy for you to identify, so that
If you've already read it, it's up to you to decide whether to read it again:
Obtained from excess property department of a county agency.  Each docking station is paired with 1 of 3 same size HP AC adapters shown in the photos, each of which matches the power specifications shown on the underside of these docking stations:  19.5 volts 3.3 amps.  All AC adapters tested as working because each one lights up the "power on" light shown on the docking station it's matched up with here..  We don't have any compatible HP laptops to fully test these docking stations with, but based on past experience I trust that this agency would not make available to resellers any equipment that it had any reason to believe was not fully functional.  We do have some separately listed HP USB-C universal dock stations that we did fully test with an HP laptop which will be listed soon. We will provide a 30 day return, not merely where required by eBay (we pay return shipping), but in case you want to return these in the same condition as sent (in which case you pay return shipping).
I would only add that as you can see in the photos (especially if you use eBay's "magnify" option), the surfaces of these items are all in very good condition -- no cracks, no scratches that I noticed while handling them (so small and shallow if there are any).  You may see some fingerprints in the photos but there's not much point in my removing them -- the surface of the docks is such that sooner or later you'd leave yourr own fingerprints on them, not because of the condition of any item here (these aren't "slimy" like some plastic items eventually become as they age), but because of the very smooth surface of the docking stations themselves.  And the "action" of the docking connectors is smooth and positive.  I checked and all of the move responsively into the extended position that you'd have them in while actually connecting a docking station to a laptop PC with a compatible "receiving slot" to connect to such a docking station.
LIST AND DESCRIPTION OF 12 PHOTOGRAPHS:
    1.  Group shot.  Each dock station is shown with the matching specifications HP AC adapter to its left, that that dock was tested with.
    2.  Same set of 3 matched dock stations and power supplies, with 1 docking station tilted up to hightlight the "HP" logo.  This photo is shown second, because the tilting up of that one unit makes it look like it is a lighter color than the other 2 -- but that's just a trick of the light hitting that unit's surface at a different angle than the other 2.
    3.  The 3 docks set up on their sides, so that you can see they are all the same overall shape.  The first 2 photos leave a kind of "stair step" impression visually, but that is because the thicker end is not evenly shaped.
The next 9 photos are in groups of 3, with each set of 3 photos in order corresponding to a single dock in the same pattern as shown in the first 3 photos, as follows:
    a.  Photos 4, 7, and 10: Photo shows the rear view of the dock plus also shows the AC adapter connected to it during power-on testing, and to be shipped  with it (though as all adapters powered on all dock stations, it really doesn't matter which AC adapter you end up using with which dock).  If you look closely at the first in each group of 3 photos, you will see toward the right hand end of the photo a rectangular power-on indicator is lit.
    b.  Photos 5, 8 and 11:  Photo shows a close  up view of the AC adapter being bundled with each respective dock.  If you use the eBay "magnify" feature you should be able to make out the power specifications shown on the dock match those of the power specifications of the adapter to be bundled with it.
    c.  Photos 6, 9 and 12:  These photos show the front of the dock, with the AC adapter to be bundled with it having its AC (detachable) and DC (fixed) cords bundled around the body of the adapter.  2 of the adapters came with cords with Velcro-closing "wraps"; the third did not, so you can see a red "twister tie" used to neaten up that bundled adapter for the purpose of the photos showing it.  But if you ask we can probably find a compatible AC cord that does have an attached Velcro-closing "wrap".
    ABOUT "BEST OFFERS":
We've priced this lot based on reviewing recent sales of this model of item, in comparable condition, complete with matching AC adapters, and with the degree of testing referred to in the listing text.  We generally don't sell for the very highest recent actual selling price, but neither do we "aim for the middle".  Yet w
ith our 20+ years of experience as a seller on eBay, we do often manage to sell things for a higher price than, for example, the price that a very new seller (with no track record here to establish trust) or a seller whose sales volume on ebay is so high that they can afford not to care about negative feedback (which we have rarely received in that 20+ years selling on eBay), might obtain.  Please check the feedback comments we've received. as well as our current feedback level, which has stood at 100% positive for years (ebay bases a seller's feedback rating on feedbacks received during the 12 months before you look at it).  That kind of track record raises buyer confidence, and that in turn may lead a buyer to buy from us, not because we're the cheapest, but they can expect to have a good buying experience.
But there are a few reasons why we'd agree to take less, such as (a) you ask for Free Local Pickup during eBay checkout, saving us time and expense, or (b) you are located fairly close to us so that our shipping costs are lower than usual (and "usual" means that, for whatever reason, the great majority of our sales over these 20+ years we've been on ebay have involved shipping to buyers at least 500 miles away from us in the San Francisco Bay Area, often all the way to the Miidwest or to the East Coast).  And if our costs to get your purchase to you go down, we are willing to lower your cost to buy.
There is one important caveat here:
When you make a "Best Offer", eBay will display the city and zip code that the item is supposed to ship to.  Based on that, we can estimate what our cost to ship to you would be.  But if you only after the sale say you want your purchase sent somewhere else (
this process is sometimes referred to as "drop shipping"
), what looked like an "average" or even "very close to us" shipping address, with our cost to ship based on that, might suddenly be presented as, for examples, to a small town in Maine or Florida, where our costs to ship might balloon by an extra , or more.  So if you plan to make an offer, be sure to say in the offer itself (eBay provides an area to include "terms") what that different post-sale address you are planning to ask us to ship to is going to be, because if you don't and we aren't willing to cover the unexpectedly higher cost to ship based on what you tell us to do only after you've bought, we will cancel the transaction (and eBay has backed us up in such situations).  We aren't opposed to "drop shipping" in all cases.  We'll even accommodate those "drop shippers" who ask us to hide our being involved in the sale (because their customer, if they knew they could have bought from us directly for less than the "drop shipper" sold to them for, might buy from us directly the next time).  But when our costs go up, meaning that our expected profit, in accepting a buyer's offer, suddenly and without warning goes down, we won't proceed.  We don't think that's a fair outcome to be stuck with; kind of like changing the rules of a game after it's over, so that the "loser" turns into the "winner".  We aren't making this up, it happens to us often, most frequently for whatever reason when we sell inks and toners on ebay.
WE GET YOUR ITEM QUICKLY TO THE CHOSEN SHIPPING SERVICE AFTER PAYMENT:
Our commitment on this sale is to get your item(s) to the shipper within one business day after payment is completed.  And if a buyer is able to get payment completed by 11am California time on a non-holiday weekday (Mondays through Fridays), we are often able to ship the same day as paid.  We may ship the same day as paid even if paid later, but the later in the day payment is made, the less likely same day shipment can take place.  Depending on circumstances at this end and what shipment method applies, we may even be able to do "same day as paid" shipping on a Saturday, though our local USPS (often, but not always, the method and location of where and how we ship) closes at 4pm Saturdays (vs. 5pm on weekday business days).
Since only one person here takes care of shipping (and just about anything else), we can't literally promise in advance to achieve same-day-as-paid shipping, since things can always "come up" to prevent that for a smaller operator like us.  We do, however, ship the same day as paid when we can, especially when it comes to relatively small size shipping packages and/or if a buyer is concerned enough about when they'd get their item to choose the Priority Mail option spelled out below), and our feedback shows that our customers appreciate the extra effort.
Please note that since the appointment of the current Postmaster General of the US in mid-2020 (who may remain in that post for as much as about 2 more years if he chooses to since it's not as easy for a new President to "fire" a Postmaster General as it is to fire some others appointed to positions in government service), there have been claims made that mail service is slower and/or less reliable than before.  This is something that is obviously beyond our control.  All we can do at our end is make sure that the mailing takes place by the local pickup cutoff time for the date that we place an item into the hands of the USPS.  These days that almost always literally means "into the hands" because whenever possible, we'll actually mail (when shipping by mail) at a USPS staffed retail postal center, so that we can actually see your item scanned by a clerk, and get a paper receipt on the spot, due to unexpected delays we've seen since around June 2020, not only in how long an item spends in transit, but also how long it takes for "tracking results" to show up.
Combined with the current health care crisis, we are all operating in uncertain times, which may also affect other delivery services (carriers) besides the USPS as well, so please "don't shoot the messenger":  As long as we hand off your purchase to a shipper as quickly as we've committed ourselves to do, please don't "ding" us with a lower rating for what may happen afterwards due to things beyond our control -- and also remember that if you opt for "free shipping", that often means we'll choose the cheapest delivery service that meets the delivery standards set by ebay for the kind of free shipping commitment we made in a listing.  Thank you for your understanding!
FREE "STANDARD CLASS" SHIPPING (MEANS YOU MIGHT GET A FREE UPGRADE TO FASTER SERVICE):
eBay defines "Standard Class" shipping as meaning a shipping service that is supposed to get a buyer's item to them within 5 business days after being given to the shipper by the ebay seller (plus, in our case, our standard 1 business day after payment handling time between payment date and shipment date).  When you choose "Free Shipping", we will pick from available carriers that will commit to delivering your item(s) to you at least that quickly, based on whichever method costs us the least.  And if that means choosing Priority Mail when doing so is less expensive for us than using a usually slower service such as "FedEx Ground" that only just satisfies ebay's "Standard Class" class shipping standards, we'll "upgrade" you to Priority Mail at no added cost.
Note that for some reason eBay says that Priority Mail takes "2 to 5 business days" time in transit for delivery.  We have no idea why eBay says that.  In our experience on eBay, shipments sent via Priority Mail usually take 2 to 3 business days, not 2 to 5, and will virtually always arrive faster than a shipment sent via a Ground class service like FedEx Ground.
SHIPPING VIA USPS PRIORITY MAIL IF YOU WANT TO "LOCK US IN" TO THAT CHOICE:
You can decide at time of checkout to pay extra for us to commit to ship via USPS Priority Mail if you're in a hurry (and want to be sure that we'll use Priority Mail instead of a likely slower -- possibly days slower, depending on circumstances -- alternative allowed by the terms of this listing). Please note that we are referring here to "USPS Priority Mail", not the much more expensive "USPS Priority Mail Express" service (formerly known as "Express Mail").
Please note that when we us the words "USPS Priority Mail" anywhere in our listings without adding the word "Express", we are referring here to the "standard" version of "USPS Priority Mail", not the much more expensive "USPS Priority Mail Express" service (formerly known as "Express Mail").
    RETURNS IN GENERAL
    :
Please be sure to save all shipping and packing materials (box, padding, etc.) for the length of the potential return period, in the event a return is to take place.  If you have any questions at all about the condition of the materials, however, please contact us first to confirm that we would authorize you to re-use those materials in returning an item to us, since sometimes those materials get chewed up enough during initial delivery that they need to be repaired or replaced before being re-used.
    BUYER NO-FAULT RETURNS
:  30 calendar day return time, running from date of first attempt at delivery by the chosen shipper to your ebay verified shipping address, if you return these for any or no reason in the same condition as sent, at your expense.  However, if you do something that causes one of these to fail in use, e.g., if you spill your drink into one of these (or any attached equipment such as a laptop) and it shorts out and dies, or if you physically damage this unit, those are good examples of things that would not qualify as a "BUYER NO-FAULT RETURN".
    CLAIMED SELLER FAULT RETURNS:
Ebay lets you return almost anything within 30 days after receiving it, if what was purchased is not what the listing represented it to be, no matter what limitations a seller may try to put on the reasons for return (and many do).  Please see exact details as provided by eBay at the top of this listing.  To the extent that ebay allows it, you must use a shipping class and type that costs no more than what we used to ship your item(s) to you.
    SALES TAX ISSUES:
    (A) Exemption Claim; (B)  EBAY'S POLICY SINCE JANUARY 2019 REGARDING CHARGING SALES TAX ON INTERNET SALES
    :
    A.  Exemption:  As of the date of this listing, if you are a reseller qualified for this itemto be exempt from automatic state sales tax collection by eBay (see "(B)" below)
, if you think eBay might automatically add sa
les tax here, please contact eBay and/or check with us before you bid about filing any required exemption forms to seek.  Be sure to take care of this before you pay, since (a) we never see that tax money, so can't refund what we never had, and (b) we are not in a position to be your "advocate" in dealing with dozens of different state laws and requirements to allow sales tax not to be paid.  Note that we can't allow nonpayment to go on indefinitely while you do what you need to do to try to avoid paying sales tax, which is why we are letting you know about this issue before you buy.
    B.  For all buyers:  On January 3, 2019, we received the following message from ebay about sales tax collection:
"If you sell to buyers in the US, some states may require you to collect applicable Internet Sales Tax on your transactions. In such cases, eBay calculates, collects, and remits Internet Sales Tax for orders shipped to customers on your behalf. After we collect state Internet Sales Tax, you do not need to take any action. There are no extra charges or fees for this service. Learn more about Internet Sales Tax on our Help pages."
We aren't 'tax experts', but what we think the above basically means is that if you buy something on ebay that you would have had to pay sales tax on, if you'd bought it instead from a local store like a Best B
    uy
store, etc., in your state, ebay might now add your state's sales tax to your purchase price. eBay would then send that tax money, that was part of the total that ebay had you pay, to your state.
We never see that money, so can't "refund" it. Even if you told us before you purchased the item, and sent us documentation to prove such exempt status, we as the seller have no way to stop eBay from adding state sales tax to what you bought. And even if you sent us documentation before or after the purchase, as some sellers have done with us in the past, and asked us either to refund the amount of tax paid, or if not yet paid, ask us to custom create an invoice that does not charge tax, our experience is that eBay will add tax anyway.
Some states may provide a way on your tax return forms to request a sales tax refund.
Please contact ebay if you have any questions about these sales tax issues.
