Antique Brunson BRUNING Level Transit Military Instrument in Leather Case

UNKNOWN Antique Brunson BRUNING Level Transit Military Instrument in Leather Cas. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS First Class. I do not know what this instrument is it is 5 1/8 in long and three quarter inch in diameter approximately there is a very small aperture hole on one end and and the other end is divided in half there's a little level the bubble still their looks perfect in that little black box that's  on the instrument this is made of brass but I believe it has a leatherette black covering that is worn off in a lot of spots the only marking is at the top of the leather case
